Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made eight ambulance runs Tuesday. There were no fires.

Barton County Sheriff
A burglary at NW 30 Road and NW 70 Ave. was reported Tuesday. Items taken included tools, an air compressor and auto batteries.
A pickup hit a deer at 6:24 a.m. Wednesday on K-96, west of Great Bend (near mile marker 178).

Kansas Highway Patrol
A Hays woman was taken to Hays Medical Center following a one-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon in Russell County. Mildred M. Dechant, 86, was southbound on 176th St. at Land Road, about five miles north of Gorham, at 5:20 p.m. when she lost control of the 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass on the sandy road. The car slid broadside and rolled, landing in the roadway on its roof. Dechant was wearing a seat belt.

Great Bend Police
Police have released more information about an accident that occurred Tuesday morning at 12th and Holland. A vehicle driven by Mollie Weber was westbound and struck a northbound vehicle driven by an unknown person, at 8:05 a.m. The second vehicle rolled onto its top and the driver fled on foot. This was listed as an injury accident because it was a rollover, but no one found at the scene was injured. Police still don’t know the identity of the driver who fled.
Several storage units at 200 McKinley St. have been burglarized, it was reported Tuesday.
An employee at Sunflower Bank, 3600 10th St., reported receiving a fake $100 bill.
A vehicle driven by Anna Kern backed into a vehicle driven by Thomas Pearson, who was southbound on Heizer St. near 19th St. at 12:51 p.m. Tuesday.
A theft involving a juvenile was reported at 1811 Main.
Vehicles driven by Adam Sullivan and Ron Ward collided in the 5800 block of 16th St. Terrace at 6:51 p.m.
