Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made four ambulance runs Monday. At 9:17 a.m. they responded to the landfill for a trash fire, caused by a hot load brought to the landfill. The landfill personnel were able to extinguish the fire before firefighters arrived.

Barton County Sheriff
A vehicle hit a deer on West K-4 and NW 50 Ave. at 7:31 a.m. Monday.
A burglary at a shop in the 100 block of SW 90 Ave. and Barton County Road was reported.

Great Bend Police
A vehicle driven by Richard MacKenzie was turning into McDonald’s at 11:46 a.m. Monday and struck a vehicle driven by Stephany Prieto, who was eastbound on 10th St.
A Great Bend resident reported an unknown person using her credit card to buy items online.
Possible narcotics  found at the Great Bend Regional Hospital Emergency Room were given to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation for testing.
