Great Bend Fire/EMS

A grass fire was reported at 9:05 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of K-96, or NW 20 Ave. and K-96. Emergency Medical Services responded to seven calls.


Barton County Sheriff

A non-injury crash was reported at 6:24 a.m. Tuesday on West U.S. 56 at mile marker 199.

A non-injury crash was reported at 6:32 p.m. in the 1300 block of SE 35 Road, Ellinwood.

A non-injury crash was reported at 9:20 p.m. in the 700 block of SE 50 Road, Ellinwood.

A non-injury crash was reported at 9:53 p.m. at K-96 and NW 80 Ave.

A non-injury crash was reported at 10 p.m. on East U.S. 56 at mile marker 214.


Great Bend Police

A non-injury crash was reported at 10:43 a.m. Tuesday at 3800 10th St.

Police responded to a domestic call at 2:36 p.m., after a male allegedly threatened a female with a knife. Thomas Nairn, Great Bend, was arrested for aggravated assault and booked into the Barton County Detention Center in lieu of $20,000 bond.

An individual reported someone throwing a bottle at his truck and damaging it around 10:13 p.m. at 1500 Cherokee Road.
