Great Bend Fire/EMS

Emergency Medical Service made nine ambulance runs on Friday, Dec. 29; seven on Saturday, eight on Sunday and nine on New Year’s Day.

There was a fireworks report on New Year’s Eve. On Monday, a gas leak was reported at 8:40 a.m. in the 800 block of Grant Street.


Great Bend Police

Police responded to a reported domestic incident at 9:09 a.m. Friday at Sunflower Diversified Services 8823 4th St., after an individual allegedly punched another subject. A notice to appear (NTA) in municipal court was signed but officers did not make contact with the suspect.

A non-injury crash was reported at 12:07 a.m. Saturday in the 5900 block of Eisenhower Ave.

Theft of cash was reported at 4:06 a.m. Saturday at Quality Inn, 3500 10th St. A NTA was signed and served.

A vehicle struck a pole in the Walmart parking lot at 3:42 p.m. Saturday.

An individual reported being bitten by a opossum at 5:05 p.m. in the 2800 block of Bonita Ave.

A theft was reported Saturday evening at Walmart.

Criminal damage to property was reported Saturday evening at Equity Bank, 725 McKinley St.

A burglary not in progress was reported at 1:16 a.m. Sunday at Cerv’s, 1000 Main. A rock was thrown through a glass door and items were stolen. At 1:32 a.m., an officer located John Debeau Jr. in the 1700 block of Stone St., in possession of items reported stolen from Cerv’s. He was arrested and booked into the Barton County Jail with bond set at $20,000.

An individual reported being pushed by a known person at 2:28 a.m. at 2414 Walnut Dr. An NTA was signed.

Two vehicles collided in a non-injury crash at 7:49 p.m. Sunday at 11th and Heizer.

A non-injury crash was reported at 8:45 p.m. in the 1400 block of 12th St.

A non-injury crash was reported at 10:33 p.m. in the 2800 block of Main St.

A non-injury crash was reported at 11:07 p.m. in the 2500 block of 17th St.

A large dog was inside Dillon’s No. 3, 1811 Main St., at 11:29 a.m. Monday. Animal control responded.



Barton County Sheriff

A burglary not in progress was reported Friday, Dec. 29, at 485 SE 60 Ave., Great Bend.

A sex offense was reported at 3:17 p.m. 

A theft was reported at 4:06 p.m. at Quality Inn, 3500 10th St., Great Bend.

A non-injury crash was reported at 4:23 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, at SW 20 Road and SW 110 Ave., Pawnee Rock.

A fire was reported at 9:27 p.m. Saturday at NE K-156, mile marker 138, Claflin.

An injury crash was reported at 5:26 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 31, at 1335 NW 110 Road, Olmitz.

An injury crash was reported at 10:15 p.m. Sunday at 1019 NW 10 Ave., Hoisington.

A non-injury crash was reported at 7:19 a.m. Monday, Jan. 1, in the 2200 block of North U.S. 281, Hoisington.
