Great Bend Fire/EMS

Great Bend Emergency Medical Service made seven ambulance runs Tuesday. 

Great Bend Fire Department responded to a small vehicle fire at 5:58 p.m. Tuesday at Great Bend Recreation, 1214 Stone St. The engine compartment caught on fire and minimal water was used to extinguish the fire before the fire trucks were on site. Upon arrival there was heavy smoke emitting from the vehicle. No injuries were reported.

A traffic arrest was executed at 2:14 a.m. Tuesday at 24th St. and Williams St. Jonathan Whisnant was arrested for driving under the influence and speeding.

The K-9 unit was utilized at 7:29 a.m. at UPS United Parcel Service, 2316 9th St.

Possible fraud was reported at 10:03 a.m. at 5521 Apache Road.

A case of fraud was reported at 3:31 p.m. at Verizon Wireless, 3120 10th St. 

Theft of a bicycle was reported at 5:15 p.m. in the 2200 block of Jackson St.

Barton County Sheriff

A narcotics violation was reported at 1:03 a.m. Tuesday in the 3700 block of Railroad Ave.

A non-injury crash was reported at 7:28 p.m. in the 900 block of East U.S. 56, Ellinwood.

A non-injury crash was reported at 8:38 p.m. at 3676 Ave. X, Rush County.
