Great Bend Fire/EMS

Great Bend Emergency Medical Service made seven ambulance runs Tuesday. 

Great Bend Fire responded to a fire at 6:33 p.m. at SE 20 Ave., and SE 60 Road, Barton County. No structures were burned; the fire was contained to brush and dead tree limbs and was extinguished upon arrival by firefighters. 

An explosion was reported at 3:08 a.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of 10th St. An individual was injured.

A non-injury crash was reported at 8:33 a.m. Tuesday at Broadway Ave., and Patton Road.

A non-injury crash was reported at 8:47 a.m. at Kwik Shop, 3907 Broadway Ave.

A forgery was reported at 2:21 p.m. at Farmer’s Bank and Trust, 1017 Harrison St. 

The K-9 unit was utilized on a traffic stop at 3:07 p.m. at Railroad Ave., and McKinley St.

A non-injury crash was reported at 3:47 p.m. at Walmart, 3503 10th St. 

A narcotics violation was reported at 8 p.m. in the 2600 block of 27th St.

Barton County Sheriff

A non-injury crash was reported at 7:49 a.m. Tuesday at NE 130 Road and NE 130 Ave., Claflin.

An injury crash was reported at 7:22 p.m. at 2200 29th St., Great Bend. The driver was eastbound at a high rate of speed before losing control and striking a trash can and a residence.
