SUV-deer crash sends two to hospital

Two people from Larned were injured Wednesday in Stafford County when the vehicle they were in hit a deer. Kansas Highway Patrol reports they were taken to Pawnee Valley Community Hospital in Larned with suspected minor injuries.

Kansas Highway Patrol reports Ashley N. Jackson, 38, was driving a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe and Chaylayne S. Jackson, 37, was a passenger. Both were wearing seat belts.

The Hyundai was eastbound on NE 140th St., 0.6 miles east of NE 90th Avenue, at 9 p.m. when it struck a deer crossing the roadway from the south ditch. The vehicle was removed by B&B Wrecker.
