A Barton County Sheriff's Office patrol vehicle is shown that was damaged Sunday night/Monday morning. A semi-trailer truck struck it and another BCSO patrol vehicle while deputies worked an injury accident near the Barton Ellsworth County line on K156 highway.

A Barton County Sheriff's Office patrol vehicle is shown that was damaged Sunday night/Monday morning after a semi-trailer truck struck it and another BCSO patrol vehicle while deputies worked an injury accident near the Barton Ellsworth County line on K156 highway.

 Two Barton County Sheriff Office patrol vehicles were damaged when they were struck by a semi-trailer truck near the Barton/Ellsworth County line on K156 Highway while working an injury accident. According to the BCSO, the patrol cars were struck when the eastbound truck tractor and semi-trailer failed to stop at the accident scene.

Both deputies were out of their vehicles when the accident occurred.  Neither of the deputies nor the truck driver were injured.

The highway was closed for several hours in response to the multiple accidents.

The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
