Amazon launched a new dashboard Wednesday that helps parents see what their children consume on the internet.

According to The Verge, Amazon launched its free Parents Dashboard, which can be accessed from any web browser at parents.amazon.com.

Its a simple breakdown of how many minutes children spend online when using the tablet and what websites, apps and channels they visit, The Verge reported. It also tells you how much time children used to read books or watch videos.

This feature makes so much sense that Im shocked Amazon didnt do it sooner. Amazon tells me the idea came from parent feedback, The Verges Ashley Carman wrote.

Taking it one step further, Amazon also launched a Discussion Cards feature, which offers a complete summary of their childs activities, along with questions that parents can use when talking to their children.

Parents can also read reviews, summaries and questions from other parents using these cards, The Verge reported.

Amazon previously launched the Kindle Fire HD Kids Edition, which offers children and parents protection from the darker side of the internet, according to The Guardian. The device allows parents to set up controls for limited screen use and includes a subscription service so children can download all in-app games and apps they want.
