Tory Brennan and her Viral friends are back for another wolf-enhanced adventure in "Terminal," the last installment in the Virals series. Their bodies, infected with a secret and powerful parvo-virus, are stronger and more powerful than ever.

All of the young people are discovering special abilities that distinguish them from normal humans. As a pack, they are finding that it is exciting to have these special powers and fun to learn how to control them until it becomes obvious they are not the only infected humans in the city. And their rivals have made it clear they are not going to sit back and be second best.

Terminal: A Virals Novel, by mother-and-son duo Kathy and Brendan Reichs, picks up where the last novel, Exposure, left off. But now Tory, Ben, Hi and Shelton have to figure out how to keep the new pack, The Trinity, from taking over their territory. And they dont have a lot of time because there is a shadowy, secret group tracking both packs and intent on discovering what has given them their amazing abilities.

All the excitement keeps Tory and her friends on their toes. But soon they find that they also have to decide if Chance, Torys sometimes heartthrob, is joining them or working as a plant for The Trinity and trying to take them down. And having Chance around is making it hard for Tory to decide how she feels about her packmate Ben.

Terminal is written for teen readers and has plenty of adventure and romance to keep the pages turning. There is a fair amount of mild language and disrespect for parents/authority from all the young characters. Parents in this story are clueless and seem to have no rules of behavior for their children. The romance part of the story is tame with only kissing and longing looks passing between Tory and her paramours. The violence is frequent but mild and appropriate for teen readers.

According to the authors, this will be the last installment of the Virals series, which includes five novels and several e-book novellas. While reading the previous stories is recommended, enough background is provided to explain the storyline from the previous books.
