RUSH HOUR Imagine youre a young, male college student on your way to give an important class presentation.
Youve prepared, your thumb drive is locked and loaded, and youve picked out your outfit, but theres just one life skill you havent quite acquired to really make your mark: You dont know how to tie a necktie.
Thats just what happened to a student at the University of Wisconsin-Stout student Nov. 3. In a panic to find a friend who could help him tie his necktie, he was speeding around town and then campus.He finally gave up and went to school where Officer Martin Folczyk of the Menomonie Police Department had pulled up behind him.
From the dash cam video, it appears that good Folczyk is all set to give the young man, Trevor Keeney, a ticket, but as soon as he hears the students tale of woe, Folczyk asks, Wheres your tie? The student pulls it out of his pocket, and Folczyk immediately takes action and ties the necktie.
The first time is not the charm for this good deed, and Folczyk ends up tying the tie twice and letting the grateful student off with a warning.
Its safe to say that a small good deed can go a long way any time of the year.
According to WBAY-TV, Keeney got a 92 out of 100 on his presentation, and he got an invitation to the police station for a lesson in how to tie a necktie.
