The Mental Floss YouTube channel posted a video Wednesday outlining 26 facts from studies about how familial factors affect other aspects of people's lives.

Some of the facts include an older sibling of the opposite sex making an individual better at interacting with the opposite sex, the average woman in today's America having 1.9 children and motherhood increasing the portions of the brain that deal with empathy and anxiety.

The video also says a good relationship with parents causes boys to be less likely to act out or be violent, marriage boosts happiness and most sibling relationships are repairable.

Mental floss is a weekly trivia-based YouTube channel on which host John Green lists facts about myriad of subjects.
