Growing up in Holland, Nelly Jacobs' favorite thing was horseback riding, but at 51 she developed Parkinson's disease and was no longer able to ride.
36 years later Jacobs was once again able to feel the joy of being on a horse after a charitable organization came up with a way to help her feel the sensation of riding.
The New York Post released a video Monday showing Jacobs' special experience.
In the video, Jacobs is strapped to a device that looks like a combination of a cot, a trampoline and a carriage placed on and strapped to a couple of horses, allowing Jacobs to feel as if she were riding a horse.
Jacobs' wish was granted by the "Hidden Desires" project, whose mission is to give nursing home residents some happiness by giving them a special experience, according to the Huffington Post.
"That smile made all of the effort worthwhile," the video says.
