GREAT BEND — Alice Leona Foster, 87, died Jan. 21, 2014 at Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood.
She was born Oct. 7, 1926 at Bazine, the daughter of Solomon and Molly (Scheck) Popp.
She married Marion Foster March 12, 1946 at Hoisington. He died July 7, 1992.
She was a bookkeeper for various businesses in Great Bend. Mrs. Foster was a Great Bend resident since 1950 coming from McCracken. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the Kansas Women’s Bowling Association. She was an avid bowler, and enjoyed traveling, fishing, and dancing.
Survivors include two sons, Marion Foster, Bessmer, Ala.; and Ronald Foster, Green Valley, Ariz.; a sister, Velma Boepple, Weatherford, Okla.; three brothers, Richard Popp, Midland, Texas; Lavern Popp, St. Joseph, Mo.; and William Popp, Hoisington; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Popp.
A Funeral Service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Sweany officiating. Interment will be at McCracken Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
