Almeda Marie Jurgensen, 84, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2020, at University of Kansas Health System, in Great Bend. She was born December 5, 1935, in Hays, Kansas, the daughter of Jake and Leona (Dinges) Herl. Almeda married Merle D. Jurgensen on May 5, 1953, in Great Bend. He passed away February 15, 2013.
A longtime resident of Great Bend, she was a sales clerk for Anthony’s. Almeda was a member of Prince of Peace at St. Rose Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, shopping, fashion, and drinking Pepsi.
She loved spending time with her family, especially the grandkids.
Survivors include; three sons, Eddie Jurgensen and wife Cindy of Great Bend, Bradley Jurgensen and significant other Lisa Garland of Oskaloosa, and Brett Jurgensen and wife Pricella “Zoe” of Apple Valley, California; twelve grandchildren, Brandi Scheck, Chelsea Hartshorn, Kyla Jurgensen, Katelyn Johannes, Andrew Jurgensen, Drew Jurgensen, Hannah Jurgensen, Hayley Sleffel, Tara Jurgensen, Cody Jurgensen, Sherri Scheuber, and Amanda Schaffer; and seventeen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Donald Herl.
Visitation will be 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, November 22, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 23, 2020, at St. Rose Catholic Church, Great Bend, celebrated by Father Don Bedore. Interment will follow at Great Bend Cemetery North. Memorials have been suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
