LOVELAND, Colo. — Alvin R. Moeller was born Jan. 27, 1927, on a farm near Preston and passed from this life on Nov. 2 at his home in Loveland, Colo. He was 83 years old. Alvin served in the U.S. Army immediately after high school from 1944-1946 and was discharged at the end of World War II. Upon release from the service he settled in the Rush Center area and married June Kershner from Nekoma. They spent many years in Albert where they raised their son, Don Moeller. Alvin was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad and retired in July of 1986 after 40 years as an agent telegrapher. He and his wife June moved to Colorado after his retirement. He loved sports of all kinds and especially baseball. He played for several years on a senior softball team in Longmont, Colo.

Preceding him in death were his parents and grandparents; brother, Clayton; and a sister, Dorthy. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife June; son, Don and wife Lynda; four grandchildren, Tim and wife Ivy Riggs of Arvada, Colo., Tina and husband Jeff Kastle of Wyoming, Brit Moeller of Arizona and Shane Moeller of Loveland, Colo.; four great-grandchildren, Tristan and Tanner Riggs of Arvada and Cassidy and Gracie Kastle of Wyoming; and a sister, Dona Gronau of New Mexico, also survives.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Loveland Burial Park Cemetery. Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday at the Kibbey Fishburn Funeral Home.
