ELLINWOOD - Benny E. Worman, 90, of Ellinwood, passed away November 27, 2020 at the Ellinwood Hospital. He was born November 21, 1930 in Seminole, Oklahoma, the son John and Ruby Cates Worman. Benny was a lifetime Ellinwood resident. He graduated from Ellinwood High School with the class of 1948. Benny was the owner of the former Worman Oil Company. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Benny was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ellinwood, member of Grove Park Golf Club, and an original member of the Three Coin Club. Benny was an avid golfer (with nine holes in one) and pitch player, as well as his love for all sports. On June 9, 1950, Benny was united in marriage with Barbara J. Neubecker in Ellinwood. She preceded him in death on May 26, 2016. He is also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Morris Worman and Richard Worman. Benny is survived by his three daughters, Deborah Worman of Ellinwood, Stacey Macy and husband Tom of Manhattan, KS, and Peggy Enright and husband Monty of Manhattan, KS; four grandchildren, Scott Arehart and wife Molly, Mark Arehart and wife Reggie, Benjamin Enright and wife Shelley, and Emily Johnson and husband Ben; three great-grandchildren with two on the way. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Lakin Comanche Cemetery, Ellinwood with military honors. Pastor Kenton Abbott officiating. Memorials may be given to Ellinwood EMS or Ellinwood Public Schools and Community Library Foundation in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
