ALBERT — Betty A. Rossman, 79, longtime Albert resident, passed away on Dec. 6, 2015, at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born on Jan. 6, 1936, at La Crosse, she was the daughter of Henry and Mathilda (Heronema) Basgall. On June 22, 1953, she was united in marriage to James J. “Jim” Rossman at La Crosse. Betty was a homemaker most of her life, and for 13 years worked outside her home as custodian at Farmers Bank and Trust in Albert. Betty loved to cook for others as well as loved taking care of others.  
Mrs. Rossman was a longtime member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Olmitz, where she was an active member of St. Ann’s Altar Society.
Survivors include her husband, of Great Bend; one son, Verlyn Rossman and his wife, Kathy, of Albert; three daughters,  Dianna Cushenbery and her husband, Rod, of Albert, Tammy Rodie of Phoenix, Ariz., and Illeen Becker of Chandler, Ariz.; six grandchildren, April Deines, Jason Rossman, Shawn Helie, Jeffrey Pivonka, and Evan and Cale Cushenbery; six great-grandchildren, Chyanne and Spencer Deines, Brody and Braylin Rossman, and Johanna and Vienna Helie; three brothers, James Basgall and his wife, Bernice, of Paradise, Calif., Edward Basgall and his wife, Shalley, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Charles Basgall of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Zita Zimmerman and her husband, Walter, of Great Bend, and Leona Gumescheimer of Bazine; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Kathryn Basgall in infancy, Twila Franzmathes, and Theresa Stanley.
 It was Betty’s wish to be cremated following her death. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 11, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Olmitz. Inurnment will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery at Olmitz. The family requests that memorial contributions be designated to St. Ann’s Altar Society in Olmitz or the Albert Volunteer Fire Department.
