STERLING — Betty (Preston) Hullman, age 94 was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior on Jan. 7, 2024 at her home in Sterling, Kan. She was born on Jan. 30, 1929 at Ford, Kan., the daughter of Clem Scott and Elizabeth Ethel (Trimpa) Preston. Betty was a homemaker and a long-time resident of rural Stafford County, Kan., prior to moving to Sterling, Kan. She also had been a school teacher and was a member of Peace Church, where she taught Sunday school and served on various church committees. She was a member of her local Extension Homemakers Unit. On June 6, 1954 she married Loren Anton Hullman at Ford, Kan.; he preceded her in death.
Betty is survived by two sons, Kim H. (Helen) Hullman, St. John, Kan., Michael L. Hullman, St. John, Kan.; a daughter, Cindy M. (Curtis) Beechan, Sterling, Kan.; three grandchildren, Jonathan L. Hullman, Christopher E. Hullman and Alexys E. Beechan; two sister-in-laws, Norma Blakeslee and Lu Ann Hullman; caregiver, Jeanine Payton; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Loren; brothers, Frank, Scott, Bill, Harold, Kenneth and Bob Preston; sisters, Vera Schellhamer, Burnice Shelly, Helen Morris, Katherine Campbell and Eleanor Helfrich.
Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024 at Minnis Chapel, St. John, with family present from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024 at Peace Church, 492 NE 140th St., Hudson, Kan., with Pastor Tonya Andrews, Wade Russell and Ed Preston presiding. Burial will follow in the Peace Church Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Peace Church in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS 67576.
