Bob D. Post, 88, died Feb. 7 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita. Born Feb. 20, 1923, at Winfield, he was the son of Walter Eden and Clara Louesa (Barritt) Post. He married Karen Healzer Wagner on June 5, 1970, at Great Bend. He was a driver and warehouseman for Great Bend Candy and Tobacco Co., and was an artist and retired from USD 428 as a custodian at Jefferson Elementary School.

Mr. Post was a Great Bend resident since 1966, coming from Hutchinson, after living most of his life in Oakland, Calif. He loved to go to movies, enjoyed walking, and was an avid art enthusiast.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; one daughter, Michelle Post of Wichita; a stepson, Anthony Wagner of the home; and a stepdaughter, Faith Jacobs of Wichita; and five grandchildren, Lydia Deming, Tiffany Carr, Melaine VanderMeer, Jared Roberson and his wife Jodie, and Nicole Roberson. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Eden Post; his mother, Clara Louise Straley; one brother, Walter E. Post Jr.; and one grandson, Chad Roberson.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Bryant Funeral Home, with the Rev. Arlyn Thielenhaus officiating. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Fellowship of Faith or Golden Belt Humane Society, in care the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
