Bruce Mosby Brack 1945 - 2023

MULLINVILLE — Bruce Mosby Brack, 78, died Dec. 27, 2023, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kan. He was born Nov. 9, 1945, in Hoisington, Kan., the son of Fred F. and Josephine (Mosby) Brack. Bruce graduated from Hoisington High School in 1964. He was inducted in the U.S. Army, serving in the First Calvary Division in the Vietnam War. Bruce was awarded the Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge, and two Purple Heart Medals. 

He had lived in Hoisington, Hutchinson, and Mullinville, Kan. Bruce was a farmer and rancher. He had served on the Co-op boards at Kinsley and Mullinville, and he had been a 4-H leader. On April 2, 1969, Bruce married Priscilla Miller in Hutchinson, Kan. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Shawn and wife Paige Brack, and Jay Brack, all of Mullinville; six grandchildren, Canyon and husband Cody Hamm, Tye and husband Coulter Croft, Woodrow Brack, James Brack, Cash Brack, and Samuel Chappell; five great-grandchildren, Kendall, Parker and Leighton Hamm and Jade and Taytum Croft; two sisters Beverly Nuss, Kansas City, Kan. and Lynn Litson, La Crosse, Kan. Bruce was preceded in death by three brothers Bob, J.D., and William “Bill” Underwood; and four sisters Ellie Hospadka, Sally Basham, Kay Bredfeld and Barbara Jean Underwood. 

Memorial services and Celebration of Bruce’s Life, with Military Honors, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at the Mullinville United Methodist Church with Rev. Alex Karimu and Rev. Dr. Jim Godbey officiating. A time of visiting with the family will be 9 – 10:45 a.m. Saturday, at the church. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Childrens’ Hospital and the Wounded Warrior Project, in care of Fleener Funeral Home, PO Box 41, Greensburg, KS 67054.
