FORSYTH, Mo. — Calvin “Cal” G. Schridde, 88, passed away on June 12, at his residence in Forsyth, Mo. Born on April 11, 1925 in Great Bend, he was the son of Amelia (Ahrens) and George Schridde. He graduated from the Great Bend High School in 1942, he joined the United States Army in June, 1944. Calvin worked 24 years at Theis Meat Packing Company in Great Bend. He sold appliances for Sears at Great Bend along with farming. In 1999, Calvin moved to Forsyth, Mo. He worked for Point Royale in maintenance for five years.
Mr. Schridde was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars and Elks Lodge.
Survivors include his children, Calvin Schridde Jr. “Butch” and wife Jolene of Great Bend, Brenda Pflughoeft and husband Charles of Forsyth, Mo., Randy Schridde and wife Connie of Summer Dale, Fla., and David Schridde and wife Belinda Sue of Taneyville, Mo.; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marvella Davis of Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife Kathleen Schridde.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the Forsyth Whelchel Funeral Chapel. Inurnment will be at the Dickens Cemetery with full military honors at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday.
