Carl R. Munoz, 77, died October 20, 2021, at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington. He was born February 21, 1944, in Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Frank and Katherine (Pyles) Munoz. Carl graduated from Great Bend High School and then received his degree in drafting from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kansas.
On September 10, 1966, he married Virginia Kay Courange in Hoisington, Kansas. She preceded him in death on August 26, 2018.
Carl worked in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning business and also as a tin bender for Hickey Sheet Metal. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene of Hoisington. Carl enjoyed biking, bending metal, his dogs, and especially spending time with his granddaughter, Taylor and his great-grandchildren.
He is survived by; a son, Bryan Munoz of Russell; a daughter, Karla Bard and husband Paul of Clackamas, Oregon; four grandchildren, Taylor Munoz, Kaylie Boley, Emmilie McInnis, and Airiana Bard; and three great-grandchildren, Blake McInnis, Kallum Allen, and Willow Munoz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a brother, Dennis Munoz.
Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Don Fisher presiding. Burial will follow in Hoisington Cemetery.
