Cecilia C. "Susie" Ward, 89, died Jan. 26 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend. She was born Nov. 30, 1921, at Beaver, the daughter of Valentine and Anna M. (Feltes) Kramer. She married Leonard "Buck" Ward on June 14, 1962, at Miami, Okla. He died July 7, 1983. She was a retired bookkeeper, and co-owner of Ward Motel.

Mrs. Ward was a lifetime Great Bend resident.

She is survived by one sister, Eleanor Wilkinson of Great Bend. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Valentine J. "Smokey" Kramer Jr., Nicholas "Nick" Kramer and Ambrose "Bud" Kramer; and five sisters, Elizabeth Nightengale, Dorothy Reed, Lavella Laughlin, Anna Magie and Catherine Kramer.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend, with the Rev. John Grummon officiating. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Sunday, with the family receiving friends from 7-8, at the funeral home. Donations to a memorial fund for the American Heart Association may be made in care of the funeral home.
