ELLINWOOD — Cheryl L. Whiting, 52, died Jan. 5 at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita. Born Feb. 6, 1961, she was the daughter of Robert C. and Janice (Luft) Brandt. On Nov. 11, 1978, she married Terry C. Whiting in Great Bend. He died Sept. 5, 2010. A resident of Ellinwood since 1978, coming from Great Bend, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Whiting was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include her mother, Janice Denner of Ellinwood; three sons, Jason Whiting of Great Bend, Justin Whiting of Dodge City, and Chris Whiting of Ellinwood; three sisters, Brenda Brandt and spouse Ben Nolte of Great Bend, Dana Nichols and husband Chad of Hoisington, and Brandi Smith and husband Mike of Haysville; and one grandchild, Caidyn Whiting.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Joiner officiating. Burial will be at the Hillcrest Memorial Park in Great Bend. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., on Thursday at the funeral home.
