Chester Crane 1912 - 2011

LARNED — Chester Crane, 99, died Oct. 8 at Larned Health Care Center. He was born July 30, 1912, at Garfield, the son of William J. and Elizabeth E. Bingaman Crane. A lifetime resident of Pawnee County, he was a retired clerk/maintenance person for Doerr Manufacturing of Larned for 60 years.

Mr. Crane was of the Christian Faith, Charter member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Life Member of Disabled American Veterans. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Survivors include several cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Crane and William J. Crane Jr.

Graveside Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Garfield Cemetery with Pastor Leroy Lyon presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Morell Funeral Home. Memorials may be sent to the donor’s choice in care of the funeral home.
