LARNED — Cindy Ann Grant, 59, passed away October 1, 2021, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas; after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Cindy was born December 30, 1961 to Nealan and Mary Ann Fox.  On December 19, 1981 she married Leonard Grant.  Together, they had three children, Kelly, Kylee and Kyle.  Raising her children and following all of their activities was Cindy’s absolute pride and joy.  She dedicated her life to supporting them and traveled many miles chauffeuring them to their activities.  She was a proud graduate of Fort Hays State University and bled purple for her K-State Wildcats.

A lifetime area resident, Cindy was very proud to do all the jobs on the family farm.  She also worked as a substitute teacher for more than 30 years at USD 495.  She was also a member of the Larned United Methodist Church.  Anyone who knew Cindy, knew that she had a huge heart for volunteering.  Whether it be tending to the community garden for Larned Civic Pride, working the budget shop for the United Methodist Women or volunteering as a project leader for 4-H, Cindy was involved with many aspects of her community.  She was also active in the Laureate Beta Nu chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority and the Larned Garden Club.  She also enjoyed judging many projects at the area county 4-H fairs.

Survivors include; husband, Leonard; daughter Kelly, husband Sean and granddaughter Kassidy of Eldora, Iowa; daughter Kylee of Kansas City, Mo.; and son, Kyle of Larned.  Also left to cherish her memory are many special aunts, uncles and cousins, who were more like siblings to her. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nealan and Mary Ann Fox and grandparents Earl and Thelma Fox and Pete and Hilda Penka.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the Larned United Methodist Church, with Pastor Tricia North presiding.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Pawnee County 4-H foundation or the Larned United Methodist Women, both in care of Beckwith Mortuary, P.O.
