ELLINWOOD — Cody Wayne Bryant, 24, passed away on Dec. 16, 2015, in Ellinwood. He was born on May 18, 1991 in Great Bend, the son of Lyle Bryant and Kim Bright. He was a lifetime Ellinwood resident graduating from Ellinwood High School and working for Bryant Construction.
He was an avid outdoorsman with hobbies that included hunting, fishing and riding ATV’s at the river. He was a member of the NRA and loved spending time with his yellow lab Payton in the outdoors.
He is survived by girlfriend Laken Blair, Ellinwood; father Lyle (Lynnae) Bryant, Ellinwood; mother, Kim Bright, Ponca City, Okla.; and sister Laci (Jeramy) Head, Ponca City, Okla. Other survivors include grandparents, Donna Bryant, Vernal Marlett, and Dale and Bev Randall; uncle Bruce (Michelle) Bryant; aunt Sandy (Douglas) Bauer; cousins, Jeremy and Kristine Emmons (Bryson & Layne), and Kathy Jo Bryant; and nephews Braydn and Rowan Head. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Clarence Bryant.
There will be a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Ellinwood with Pastor Bill Johnson officiating. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to the Golden Belt Humane Society or the Immanuel United Church of Christ in care of Minnis Chapel.
