NEW HOPE, Pa. — Colleen Ann Houser of New Hope, Pa. passed away at home, surrounded by family, on Dec. 27, 2012.
Colleen was born in Great Bend. She spent most of her childhood in Greenview, Ill., where she graduated from Greenview Junior-Senior High School. After graduation, Colleen moved to Bucks County where she attended Bucks County Community College and met her husband, Steve. Colleen spent the better part of a decade playing in a band with Steve, before settling down and having three daughters in New Hope, Pa. After all three daughters were in college Colleen paired two of her favorite things, children and driving, and became a school bus driver for New Hope-Solebury.
Colleen will be remembered for her infectious positivity, her unyielding love for her family and friends, and her distinctly boisterous laugh.
She is survived by her husband, Phillip Stephen Houser, Jr. “Steve”; her three daughters Christie Houser, Alexis Houser and Alyssa Houser; her four siblings, Dirk Huff, Rory Huff, Lisa Huff-Lavender, and Chris Huff-Hanson; her mother-in-law, Margaret C. Houser; and her father-in-law Phillip S. Houser, Sr. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Frances Huff; and her father Leon Keith Huff.
Family and friends are invited to Colleen’s Life Celebration, with her Memorial Service beginning at 12 p.m., on Sunday, at Penn Ryn Estate on the Delaware. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. To share your fondest memory of Colleen, visit
