ELLINWOOD — Dallas Lynn DeWerff 77, of Kingston, Okla. passed away Nov. 19, 2017, at the hospital in Durant, Okla. He was born on June 4, 1940, in Great Bend to Harold Eggert DeWerff and Ruth Rebecca Koch DeWerff. In 1988 he graduated from Ellinwood High School. He married Cinda Lue Wilcox in Ellinwood on June 5, 1960. In 1960 Dallas and his brother Dennis begin operating a dairy farm where he worked until 1979. From 1980 to 1995, he operated two oilfield service business. In 1995 he moved to Fairview, Okla. and worked as a Golf Course Superintendent. He later worked for Lake Murray and Lake Texoma Golf courses and retired in 2013.
Dallas was a member of the Lighthouse Methodist Church in Kingston, the AMPI, Associated Milk Producers Inc. and the USGA Golf Superintendent Association.
He is survived by wife, Cinda Lue DeWerff, Kingston, Okla.; children, Randall L. DeWerff of Burleson, Texas, Deborah L. Messick of Valley Center, and Wade B. DeWerff of Burleson, Texas; and brother, Dale DeWerff and wife Karen, of Augusta. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Dennis DeWerff; brothers, Floyd DeWerff and Lloyd DeWerff; and sister, Carol Clawson.
Memorial service is scheduled for at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood with the Rev. Dale DeWerff officiating. Inurnment will follow at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Lighthouse United Methodist Church, 2100 Alberta Creed Rd, Kingston, Oklahoma 73439.
