Darlene Weatherman 1950 - 2011

CHASE — Darlene Weatherman, 60, died Sept. 21 at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita. Born Dec. 9, 1950, in Hoisington, she was the daughter of Ira P. and Margaret Heinz McKay. She was a graduate of Great Bend High School. On May 25, 1968, she married Larry Weatherman Sr. in Great Bend. A resident of Chase since 1992, formerly of Hoisington, she was a former office manager for Karlin Communications and Cablevision and a pastor.

Mrs. Weatherman was a member of Victory Church in Chase and a former member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Larry, of the home; two sons, Larry Weatherman Jr., of Chase and Steve Weatherman of Shawnee; two brothers, Charles McKay of Hutchinson and Gilbert McKay of Wichita; two sisters, Sonja Viegra of Great Bend and Cheryl McKay; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Pat McKay; and twin grandsons, Eli and Reece Weatherman.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Birzer Funeral Home in Lyons with Pastor Larry Weatherman officiating. Family will greet friends from 1 p.m. to service time on Tuesday at the funeral. Memorials are suggested to the Diabetes Foundation, the Kidney Foundation, or Victory Church in care of the funeral home.
