CLAFLIN — David Glenn Radenberg, 60, died Oct. 9, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa, with his wife, Maxine, and daughters, Sharon and Alice, by his side. He was born Jan. 27, 1961 the son of Glenn C. and Marvella J. (Rusco) Radenberg.
David was a lifetime resident of Claflin. His passion was farming. Over the years in addition to farming, David was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge and served as a board member for the Barton County Farm Bureau Association, the Sterling Coop, and most recently the Kansas Wheat Commission. He was an original founding board member of the Kansas Wheat Commission Research Foundation, created in 2011. The Foundation accepts gifts to help fund wheat research efforts including scholarships for students conducting research. While active as a farmer and farm advocate he battled a rare form of brain cancer for 21 years.
David married Maxine L. Evans on Jan. 27, 1984. They were married for 37 years and had two daughters.
David was preceded in death by mother, Marvella, and father, Glenn. He is survived by his wife Maxine of the home; daughters Sharon (Jasper) Griffith of Overland Park, Kan.; Alice (Brian) Dey of Houston, Texas; brothers John (Debbie) Radenberg and Mark (Carrie) Radenberg of Claflin, Kan.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life Service will be held Oct. 23, 2021, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ located at 309 E Nassau Holyrood, Kan. with Reverend Debra Rains officiating. Light refreshments will be served after the service.
