HOISINGTON — David J. Wondra, 55, died June 28, 2015 at University Of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City.  Born June 23, 1960 at Hoisington, he was the son of Bernard and Mary Ann (Maneth) Wondra. He was a lifetime resident of Hoisington.
He married Martha Hurter April 24, 2004 at Hoisington.  David was The Power Plant Superintendent for the City of Hoisington.  He was a member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, a former Knights of Columbus, a member of Sons of the American Legion Post 286 and Sons of the VFW Post 7428 , as well as (IBEW) International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Wondra, of the home; a son, Michael Wondra and wife Kristin, of Haviland; a daughter, Brandy Ann Wondra, of Ellinwood; his father, Bernard Wondra, of Hoisington; a sister, Diane Applegate and husband Randy, of Shawnee; a brother, Jim Wondra of Overland Park; one stepson, Jesse Pribble of Perryton, Texas; three stepdaughters: Tiffany Hurter of Lawrence; Tamara Johll and husband Mark, of Pittsburgh, Penn.; and Abigail Hurter, of the home; four grandchildren: Hayden Ann, Alexis, and Quinten Wondra and Jayla Ann Wondra; and one step-grandson, Charlie Pribble.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Wondra.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, July 3, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church in Hoisington.  A prayer service will be held Thursday, July 2, at 7 p.m. at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, with officiant Father Anselm Eke. Interment will be at St. John Church Cemetery, Hoisington.  Visitation will be Thursday, July 2,from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.  Memorials are suggested to  Kans for Kids in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Box 146, Hoisington, KS  67544.  Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.nicholsonrickefh.net
