David Wayne Stueder 1952-2011

CLAFLIN — David Wayne Stueder, 59, died September 15, 2011 at his residence.
He was born June 11, 1952 at Gainsville, Texas, the son of Elmer and Mary Ellen Johnson Stueder.
He married Lana Starkweather on May 1, 1977 at Las Vegas, Nevada. The longtime Claflin resident worked at Essex for more than 37 years. He graduated from Claflin High School and Barton County Community College. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Claflin. He was an avid bowler, supported the American Red Cross Blood drives, and many Claflin school and community events.
Survivors include a son, Danny Stueder, Claflin; a daughter, Kim Prosser and husband Mark, Claflin; parents, Elmer and Mary Ellen Stueder, Great Bend; brothers, William (Bill) Stueder and wife Patty, Claflin; Alan Stueder and wife Rita, Claflin; and Terry Stueder and wife Mel Eesa, Great Bend; and 10 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents.
A funeral service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17 at Zion Lutheran Church, Claflin. Interment will be at the Claflin Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington; and from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at the church.
