Delia “Dee” Farminer, 73, died March 26, 2015, at her home in North Newton. Born March 13, 1942, in Southampton, England, she was the daughter of Thomas and Gwendoline (Hooker) Eldridge. On Aug. 19, 1961, she married Eric Farminer in Southampton, England. He died on March 25, 1996. A resident of Great Bend since 1965, coming from Southampton, England, she recently lived in North Newton to be close to family. She was a caregiver for Elder Care.
Mrs. Farminer was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Great Bend.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne Farminer of McPherson, and Scott Farminer and his wife Courtney of Tulsa, Okla.; one daughter, Tracy Kerr and her husband Heath of North Newton; and five grandchildren, Haleigh Kerr, Hunter Kerr, Eric Farminer, Derek Farminer and Logan Farminer. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Den Eldridge, Alan Eldridge, and Mike Eldridge; and four sisters, Lena McAfee, Letta Bassett, Mauriel Moger and Jean Williams.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, at the First United Methodist Church in Great Bend with the Rev. Lennie Maxwell officiating. Interment will be at the Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m., with family present, Monday at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church or Harry Hynes Hospice, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
