CLAFLIN – Derwin Disque, 55, died March 13 at Hays Medical Center. He was born Nov. 5, 1956, at Ellsworth, the son of Clarence and Delores C. (Woods) Disque. He married Karen West on Sept. 29, 2007, at Lake Wilson. He was a freight operator and tire salesman at Orscheln’s Farm and Home.
Mr. Disque was a lifetime Claflin resident. He enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, working on vehicles, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Steven Disque and his wife Michelle, Great Bend; six daughters, Chrystal Disque, Edmond, Okla., Rachel Disque, Edmond, Okla., April Bivens and her husband Bo, Great Bend, Vanessa Davis and her husband Jayme Hulse, Hoisington, Kayla Fowler, Hoisington, and Chelsea Fowler, Hoisington; a brother, Lloyd Disque, Guymon, Okla.; and 11 grandchildren, Cody George, Destiney Andrulis, Arimis Disque, Kyle Farrar, Adam Andrulis, Joshua Disque, Serenity Disque, Callista Bivens, Jadyn Bivens, Shawna Bivens and Sean Hulse.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, March 19 at Bryant Funeral Home with The Rev. Dick Ogle officiating. Interment will be St. Paul Cemetery, Holyrood. Visitation is scheduled from 1-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Derwin Disque Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
