ELLINWOOD — Dolores Keenan Bryant, 82, died Nov. 5 at Overland Park. She w as born Sept. 5, 1928, at Great Bend, the third child and second daughter of a family of eight children born to Thomas and Martha Sheils Keenan. She married Lloyd W. Bryant on Nov. 24, 1949, at Seward. He died July 12, 2006. She was a longtime Ellinwood resident and owner of Bryant TV & Radio in Ellinwood for 40 years. She later owned and operated Riverside Petroleum for the next 20 years. She graduated from Meade High School.
Mrs. Bryant was a devout lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, all of Ellinwood.
Survivors include two sons, Robert and Lynn Bryant of Poulsbo, Wash., and Patrick and Lisa Bryant of Derby; a daughter, Dr. Cincy Hoss of Overland Park; five grandchildren, Jeremy and Heather Hoss of Kansas City, Mo., Chris Bryant of San Diego, Calif., Rachel Hoss of Overland Park and Megan and Katlin Bryant of Derby; three great-grandchildren, Taylor Hoss of Derby, and Logan and Zoe Hoss of Kansas City, Mo.; three sisters and their families, Carol and Melvin Thompson of Arlington, Lois and Jim Daniels of Wichita and Mary Lynn Tesar of Bellevue, Neb.; and one brother, John and Marie Keenan of Seward. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, her parents, a sister, Helen Friesen, and two brothers, Kenneth and Maurice Keenan.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ellinwood, with Father Charles Mazouch officiating. Burial will be in the Lakin-Comanche Cemetery, Ellinwood. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 8 p.m. today at the church, with an Altar Society Rosary at 3 p.m. and a Parish Vigil Service at 7 p.m. today, all at the church. Memorials are suggested to the St. Joseph Catholic School, in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
