OLMITZ — Donald L. “Don” Bahr, 89, passed away Nov. 13, 2020, at his home near Olmitz. He was born Oct. 8, 1931, in Olmitz to William and Anna (Hickey) Bahr.
Donald, a lifetime Olmitz resident and farmer, was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and 3rd Degree member of Knights of Columbus, Council #2100.
Survivors include two brothers, Marion Bahr of Claflin, and Robert Bahr of Houston; one sister, Rose Ann Wondra of Claflin; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Cecil Bahr, Charles Bahr, Frederick Bahr and Francis Bahr; and by one sister, Catherine Oborny.
A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020, at St. Ann Catholic Church, Olmitz, with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11 a.m. with Father Anslem Eke presiding. Masks and social distancing are required, and limited seating is available. Interment will follow at St. Ann Catholic Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the Ft. Riley Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.
