Dortha Jean Batchman, 60, passed away June 17, 2022, at Via Christ St. Francis, Wichita. She was born Aug. 13, 1961, in St. John, to Leonard and Florene (Kendall) Batchman.

A lifetime resident of Great Bend, Dortha attended First Church of the Nazarene, Great Bend, and enjoyed reading, word searches and writing letters to her family. She was a longtime client and employee of Sunflower Diversified Services, with a broad range of skills, from manufacturing pallets to the delicate craft of making tea towels. 

Survivors include one sister, Diane Lewis and husband Glen of Great Bend; two aunts Barbara Phillips of Hutchinson and Laura Lou Rodarmel of St. John; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Debra Hapes.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Rev. Wade Russell presiding. Interment will follow at Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to service time, Wednesday, June 22, at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to First Church of the Nazarene or Sunflower Diversified Services, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS  67530.
