Douglas Steinert 1950 - 2012

HOISINGTON — Douglas Steinert, 62, died Nov. 12 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Born Oct. 15, 1950 in Russell, he was the son of Levi and La Vera (Steinert) Steinert. On Jan. 28, 1975, he married Darlene Naab in Russell. A resident of Hoisington since 1961, coming from Russell, he was employed in the oil patch and was a machinist. He loved his grandkids, hunting, fishing and camping outdoors.
Mr. Steinert was a veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Steinert of the home; two sons, Kenny Steinert and wife April, and Mike Steinert and wife Tammy, both of Hoisington; two daughters, Cristy Shelor and husband Jeff, Hoisington and Cathy Selle and husband Chris of Great Bend; one sister, Romona Cousins of Hoisington; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Franklin Steinert.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington with the Reverend Johnnie Spellman officiating. Burial will be at the Hoisington Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7428 and American Legion Post 286. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday and from 9 a.m. to service time on Saturday.
