Edna Claudine Ringwald 1931 - 2015

ELLINWOOD — Edna Claudine Ringwald, 83, died on July 11, 2015, in Great Bend. Born Aug. 15, 1931, at the family home in Great Bend, she was the daughter of Claude and Alice (Lovely) Ewalt. On May 18, 1952, she married Reinder Carl Ringwald in Great Bend. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2015. A lifetime resident of rural Rice County and Ellinwood, she was a housewife and actively participated with her beloved husband in their farming and livestock operation.   
Mrs. Ringwald was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Ellinwood.  
Survivors include two daughters, Constance J. Sudbeck and husband George of Ellinwood, and Carrie L. Ringwald of Chase; one son, Cletis R. Ringwald of Lyons; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, John Ewalt, of Iowa City, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Calvin L. Ringwald.  
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 20, at St. John Lutheran Church in Ellinwood with the Rev. Lloyd Sprick officiating. Pursuant to her wishes, cremation has occurred. There will be no visitation or graveside service. Visitation with the family will immediately follow the service. Memorials are suggested to St. John Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society, or donor’s choice in care of Minnis Chapel.
