Edwina Lou Girard 1943 - 2015

STAFFORD — Edwina “Lou” Girard, 72, died Sept. 28, 2015, at Stafford. Born March 17, 1943, in Lamar, Colo., she was the daughter of Stanley and Marie Jones Rogers. On July 15, 1961, she married LaVern “Curly” Girard in St. John. He died Jan. 22, 2008. She was employed at Stafford Schools as a cook for over 25 years.  
Survivors include three sons, Tim Girard and his wife Lori, of Pratt, Kirk Girard and his wife Tammy of Prairie View, and Joey Girard and his wife Sheri of Claflin; son-in-law, Craig Caley and his wife Jo; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Girard and Lucille Tremblay; special friends, Larry and Sharon Caley; eight grandchildren, Ryan Girard, LeAnn and Matt Winger, Jordan Girard, Michaela Girard, Emily Girard, Kylee Girard, Alyson Caley and Shawna Duvall; four great-grandchildren, Allen Ross Skeen, Cullen Ray Skeen, Brantley Ryan Winger and Hoyt Thomas Winger; and many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Caley; and six sisters: Norma Smith, Doris Ring, Sharon Burge, Joyce Hardwick, Nancy “Bobbie” Seeman and Faybress Benton.


Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1, at Minnis Chapel in Stafford with Pastor Jeff Lowther presiding. Burial will be at Stafford Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Wednesday with the family receiving friends 6-8 at Minnis Chapel. Contributions can be made to Calvary Baptist Church or Hospice of Reno County, both in care of the chapel.
