Elizabeth G. “Beth” Carson 1951 - 2022

Elizabeth G. “Beth” Carson, age 71, of Great Bend, Kansas passed away early on Saturday morning, February 12, 2022 at her Great Bend home.  Beth was born on March 11, 1951 at Hays, Kansas to Leon Lomas and Billiegene (Wickle) Snell.  The family lived in Medicine Lodge, Kiowa, and Hutchinson prior to moving to Great Bend when Beth was young.  She graduated from Great Bend High School in 1969.  Beth was united in marriage to Benny H. Carson on December 11, 1990 at Great Bend.  She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Certified Medical Assistant for the former Cherry Village Residential Care in Great Bend (now MedicaLodge – Great Bend) for 29 years prior to her retirement in 2018.  Beth enjoyed bowling, cross-stitch, playing cards, spending time with friends, and spoiling her grandkids. 

Survivors include her husband, Benny H. Carson of Great Bend, Kansas; three sons:  Jeff (& Beth) Gillespie of Hitchcock, Texas, Todd Gillespie of St. John, Kansas, and John Carson of Great Bend, Kansas; three daughters:  April (& Mark) McPherson of Lenexa, Kansas, Amanda (& Lance) Bickle of Hays, Kansas, and Aleasha Gouge (& Richard Soukup) of Great Bend, Kansas; fourteen grandchildren:  Bryce Gillespie, Chailyn Gillespie, Conner Gillespie, Kayla McPherson, Brett McPherson, Reagan McPherson, Elizabeth McPherson, Alexis Bickle, Alayna Bickle, Cade Carson, Logan Gouge, Addie Gerdes, Sydney Ridgel, and Layne Soukup; one great-granddaughter Stella Ridgel; one sister Annette (& Larry) Whisnant of Bennington, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews.  Beth was preceded in death by her father and mother Leon and Billiegene (Wickle) Lomas, her step-father Art Snell, and her brother Mark Lomas. 

According to her wishes, cremation has been chosen and there will be no services or visitation.  Memorials may be directed to the Beth Carson Funeral Expense Fund with Charter Funerals of Great Bend, Kansas in charge.
