Ella Louisa Bridgman Going

CHICKAMUGA, Ga. — Ella Louisa Bridgman Going, 83, passed away Jan. 24th. Born in Hutchinson, she was the daughter of Otis and Iva Redhair Bridgman. A longtime resident of Great Bend, until 2005 when she moved to Chickmauga, Ga., she was a former employee of Woolworth’s and Great Bend High School. She enjoyed fellowship with her friends at The Chickamauga Senior Center.
Mrs. Going was a member of the First Christian Church of Great Bend. She had enjoyed square dancing with The Cheyenne Twisters, was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi and the local chapter of The Eastern Star, all in Great Bend. She attended Oakwood Baptist Church in Chickmauga, Ga.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Marla and Marvin Brack of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Norris Going and Cheryl Kotecki of Weaverville, N.C.; sister, Delores Petree of Wichita; two grandchildren, Sheri Wilson (Dewayne) of Rossville, Ga., and Tevin Brack of Chickamauga, Ga.; four great-grandchildren, Cailey, Hallie and Kheley Wilson, and Kason Brack; and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Gene Going; daughter, Norma Lugene Going; sister, Wilma Metz; and brother, Richard Bridgman.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Wilson Funeral Home chapel, 215 Lee Ave., in Chickamauaga, Ga. Entombment will follow at Calvary Gardens-Mausoleum in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga. The family will receive friends after noon until the service time.  Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Chickamauga Senior Center, 1404 West 14th Street, Chickamauga, GA 30707.
