Eva Ellen Patterson 1915-2013

Eva Ellen Patterson, 97, died Feb. 21, 2013 at Leisure Homestead, St. John. She was born July 3, 1915 at Great Bend, the daughter of Elrick James and Leta Elizabeth (Slaughter) Cole.
She married Edgar Milton “Pat” Patterson March 10, 1956 at Clayton, N.M.  He died April 20, 2002. She was co-owner of the Little Chef Diner in the 1960s.
Mrs. Patterson was a Great Bend lifetime resident and a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, Great Bend.
She is survived by nieces, Ann Soucie and husband Richard of Palm Desert, Calif.; MaryBeth Rose of Bogue.; and Judy Cole of Portland, Ore. and nephews, Paul Shell and wife Isabelle of Sun City, Fla.; Edward Stetler and wife Phylis of Lakeland, Fla.; Philip Hoch of Hutchinson; and Richard Cole of Fall City, Wa.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Cole and Delbert Cole; and three sisters, Harriet Shell, Minnie Stetler, and Clarabelle Nuss; and many nieces and nephews.
The graveside service is at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the Great Bend Cemetery with The Reverend John Grummon officiating. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend.
Visitation will be noon to 9 p.m., Monday and 9 a.m. to noon, Tuesday at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Golden Belt Home Health and Hospice or Harden Hospice, in care of Bryant Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
