CHASE — Florentine L. Oberle, 96, died July 20, 2015, at Rice Co. Hospital in Lyons. She was born on April 22, 1919, in Ellinwood, to Peter and Anna (Straub) Kimpler. She married George Oberle on Aug. 23 1937, at Sts. Peter and Paul Church north of Ellinwood. He died August 1955. She later married Tony Oberle on Oct. 31, 1959, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church north of Ellinwood. He died March 21, 1995.
She was a loving mother, a homemaker, and gardener and preserver. Her memberships included St. Paul Catholic Church and the Altar Society in Chase.
Survivors include sons, Leon Oberle, Jim Oberle, Gerald Oberle and Tony Oberle; a daughter, Mary Herold; and sisters, Esther Oberle, Bernetta Oberle, Katherine Feist, and Mary Therese Bate. Other survivors include 23 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; sons, Don Oberle and Carl Oberle; brothers, Roman Kimpler, Victor Kimpler and Raymond Kimpler; a sister, Helen Schultz; and grandchildren Traci Oberle and Jeffrey Oberle.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 24, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ellinwood, with Fr. Terrance Klein presiding. Burial will follow at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery north of Ellinwood. There will be a visitation at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood on Thursday from 1-6 p.m. and a vigil service at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church that evening at 7. Memorials are suggested to Rice Co. Swingbed Unit, First Responders (Chase), or Donor’s Choice in care of Minnis Chapel. Condolences may be left online at www.minnischapel.org.
