WICHITA — Frances Ruth Pearson passed away Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023, at the Catholic Care Center.
She is survived by her children, Clayton Pearson, Jr. (Linda), Sue (Mike) Koch, and Kay (Bob) Finn; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and seven nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Pearson, Sr.; parents, Nels and Lasata Nilson; brother, Bud Nilson; and sister, Evelyn Ade.
Frances was born on the family farm in McPherson County, Kan., on July 24, 1917. Frances worked for the U.S. Post Office in Gypsum, Kan., until getting married and moving to Great Bend. She worked in food service for the Great Bend hospital and public schools until retirement.
Frances lived by the motto “I don’t deserve it, but I’ll take it, and I’ll love it,” whether she was talking about the love and care of her children, the flowers that often filled her room, or the care provided by the staff at Regents Senior Living, the Catholic Care Center and Good Shepherd Hospice in the final years of her life. A member of the First United Methodist Church, her faith, love for God, and her family were the most important things in her life and provided great comfort after her husband Clayton passed in 2007.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary, with burial service to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Great Bend at 2 p.m. Share tributes online at: www.dlwichita.com
