Garth Guy Frydendall, 86, passed away November 23, 2020, at Country Place Memory Care, Hoisington. He was born November 23, 1934, at Bellaire, Smith County, Kansas, to Harold Guy and Ida Lenore (Baldwin) Frydendall. Garth married JoAnn Jewell October 10, 1955, in Osborne.
Garth, a Great Bend resident since 1964 coming from Smith Center, hauled grain and feed for Great Bend Feeding for 40 years, retiring in 2004. Following retirement, he drove semi for various area farmers during harvest. In Garth’s spare time, when he was not driving his truck, Garth did repairs on his truck. He got to enjoy flying on occasion. Garth also enjoyed mowing and keeping his yard looking sharp.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn of the home; two daughters, Debbie Evers and husband Daryl of Olathe and Brenda Axman and husband Paul of Hoisington; four grandchildren, Derek Evers and wife Heather, Deren Evers, Dawna Konkel and husband Devin, Douglas Axman and wife Jenn; and two great grandchildren, Harrison Evers and Adalynn Axman. He was preceded in passing by his parents and two brothers.
Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at Great Bend Cemetery North, Great Bend, with Pastor Troy Miller presiding. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home, and 9:00 a.m. to Noon, Wednesday, November 25, 2020. Memorials may be given to the Garth Frydendall Memorial Fund or Kindred Hospice, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
