SALINA — Gary Lee McDowell, 69, Salina, died March 19, 2012.
Gary was born Sept. 6, 1942, in Lincoln, Neb., the son of Ralph Paul McDowell and Letha Bell Erickson McDowell. He was an accountant for 46 years, retiring in November 2011 from Clubine and Rettele, Chartered in Salina.
Mr. McDowell was a member of First Christian Church in Salina, and several local and professional organizations.
Survivors include his mother, Letha; two sisters Donna Baxter (Dr. Reese), Brookville; and Patricia Peterson (C.E. “Pete”), Huntsville, Ala.; an aunt, Ruth Weed, Salina; a nephew; four nieces; four great-nephews; and three great-nieces; as well as special friends Malcolm and Elaine Shaw and their family of Wilson.
Funeral services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Friday, March 23 at the Ryan Mortuary. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 26 at the Greenwood Memorial Cemetery in Greenwood, Neb.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Ryan Mortuary in Salina.
