Gary Lee Herber, 75, passed away on November 17, 2020 at his home in Dorrance, KS. He was born on January 17, 1945 in Ellsworth, KS to Chester and Ethel (Washburn) Herber. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Wilkerson on January 15, 1966 in Russell, KS.

Gary grew up in Dorrance and graduated from Dorrance High School in 1963. He spent his life farming. He was also a bus driver for USD 407, USD328, and USD112 until his retirement in 2016. Gary was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Dorrance, Shriners, and the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and camping at Wilson Lake. He also enjoyed playing Pitch and Pinochle, and watching the Chiefs, but what Gary enjoyed the most was spending time with his family.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Carolyn of the home; sons, Timothy Herber and wife Christi of Dorrance, Jimmie Herber and wife Julie of Newport News, Virginia, and Jamie Herber and wife Jamie of Dorrance; and six grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Ethel; and his brother, Larry Herber.
